One of the definitions of Peregrino is: one who comes from distant lands. Maybe that's why this book came from a trip, in a research carried out in the wilds of South America.

The author tells how he lived for some time in a Machinguenka indigenous community, in order to understand their connection with nature and their healing practices. At a certain point, he realized the need to describe and contextualize how shamanism is understood in the Peruvian Amazon region and some scientific research on the plants they use in their rituals. These seem promising, so after being well studied and analyzed, they can respond to some scourges of humanity such as depression and Parkinson's disease, just to give a few examples.

It is not an exhaustive study, but a small boat that allows us to navigate these waters more enlightened and understand how ayahuasca tea is part of the Concept of "Master Plants" in the indigenous cultures of Peru.
